Head Chef Martin Cooper has been with Delifonseca since it opened in 2006 on Stanley St. He’s a bit of a local culinary legend for those of a certain generation having been the chef proprietor of the Armadillo restaurant in the Cavern Quarter through the 80’s and 90’s. He is now ably assisted by his Sous Chef Joe Rossi another local talent who has learnt is trade in many of the north west’s finest restaurants. Between them they keep the blackboard heaving with a wide range of great tasting dishes with known providence.

In the evening when the lights dim and the candles are lit the dining room and its cosy booths feel every bit the destination restaurant but during the day with its bright sunny aspect and outside covered terrace it’s a perfect location for a leisurely breakfast or a bustling lunch.

The ample parking and its position only a mile from the centre of the city going south on the riverside commuter route (Sefton St  A5036) attract a different crowd from its city centre sister restaurant, the regulars range from foodies to families, local workers & residents to lunching business suits.

The restaurant also has a great reputation for good friendly service. Manager Tom Ford and his trusty lieutenants Michael and Debbie have a reputation for going the extra mile. Debbie’s renowned for her calming touch with younger members of families but then she is assisted by the widest children’s menu in town. 95% of our dishes are available in children’s half portion sizes!
